FFL Transfer Process
Follow these steps to have your online firearm purchase shipped to Arsenal Armory for transfer.

Call or email before purchasing to confirm we can receive your transfer and verify current fees. Some items may have restrictions.

Request Our FFL
We will send a signed copy of our FFL directly to your seller. Provide the seller's email or fax number and we'll transmit it promptly.
Do not share our FFL publicly. We send it directly to verified sellers.
Seller Ships Firearm
Your seller (must be an FFL or manufacturer) ships the firearm to our address. Include your name and contact information inside the package.

We Notify You
Once we receive and log your firearm, we will contact you within 24–48 hours to schedule your pickup appointment.
Complete Paperwork
Come to our location with valid ID. You'll complete ATF Form 4473 and we'll conduct the NICS background check.
Waiting Period (if applicable)
Washington State waiting periods apply to pistols (10 days) and semi-automatic rifles (10 business days). We hold your firearm until the period clears.
Take Possession
Once approved and any waiting period has elapsed, return to our location to pay the transfer fee and take possession of your firearm.
What to Bring
Standard Transfers
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- ID must show current WA address

- Invoice/receipt from seller (recommended)
Semi-Auto Rifle Transfers
- All items above, plus:
- Proof of firearms safety training
- Must be 21 or older
- Prepared to sign health records waiver
NFA Transfers
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- Two passport-style photos
- Fingerprint cards (we can assist)
- Trust documents (if applicable)
- $200 for ATF tax stamp
Private Party Transfers
Washington State law (I-594) requires all private party firearm transfers to go through a licensed dealer with a background check. No exceptions except for transfers between immediate family members.
Process
- Both buyer and seller come to Arsenal Armory together
- Seller presents the firearm (unloaded, cased)
- We log the firearm into our A&D book
- Buyer completes ATF Form 4473
- We conduct NICS background check
- Applicable waiting period observed
- Upon approval, buyer takes possession
- Transfer fee applies
What Each Party Needs
Seller:
- The firearm (unloaded, cased)
- Valid government-issued ID
Buyer:
- Valid government-issued photo ID with current WA address
- Payment for firearm (to seller) and transfer fee (to us)
- Training documentation (if semi-automatic rifle)
NFA Transfer Process
NFA items (suppressors, SBRs, machine guns, etc.) have additional federal requirements and longer processing times.
Timeline
- Form 4 approval: Currently 2 months to 2 years
- Form 3 (dealer to dealer): 2–4 weeks typical
- Form 1 (manufacture): Variable; check current times

We cannot accept shipments directly from unlicensed individuals. Private party transfers must be conducted in person at our location.

- Ship via UPS or FedEx (USPS for handguns from FFLs is acceptable)
- Include buyer's name and contact information inside the package
- Include invoice or packing slip
- Signature required on delivery
- Insure shipment for full value
Storage & Unclaimed Transfers
Storage Policy
- First 30 days: No storage fee
- After 90 days: We may return to sender or dispose per policy
